IPC-T549M-ALED-S3 with led enable during night or IPC-HDW5442T-ZE S3?

We have a 9 cameras setup with a mix of IPC-HDW4231EM-AI and IPC-HDW5231R-Z for over 7 something years and we wanted to replace it all soon. We were thinking of replacing it all with those night full color camera but we do understand that we need to have soft led enabled all night long which would be fine with us if that give us a good quality full color view at nighttime or should we just go with IPC-HDW5442T-ZE S3 and use IR still?

We trying to determine the quality of nigh time video recording comparing with full color cam such as IPC-T549M-ALED-S3 with soft led enabled all night long or just sticking with black and white using IR like the IPC-HDW5442T-ZE S3 like our current setup. We are looking at YouTube but wonder if anyone have real life experiences comparing between the two model and don't mind sharing it in this thread.

A picture of the scene at night would help a lot.

No way to really tell without seeing how much ambient light you have

Also the full color is a fixed lens vs the 5442 variable focus, so it will depend on your FOV and how far out you want to see detail

I thought ambient light is not really important as long you are using the soft led lights on the camera?

No
Please remember that in IR mode, cams require 10x less light comparing to full color mode.
So IR from cams works fine at places where is no light, white LEDs not so much...

Also white LEDs attract a lot of attention from neighbors / passers-by.
contribute to questions why this camera is pointed towards the neighbor's house or public street etc..

White LEDs in Full color cameras is a gimmick.
If You have enough street/garden lights then you can try to use Full Color cameras with disabled white LEDs.

But if there is no enough light, then only normal IR models.

ps. there are also other problems with Full Color cams (mostly only fixed lens - no varifocal models, shadow depth-of-field, very high digital processing - non stop digital sharpening and WDR like effect etc)..

Everything is a matter of degrees. Will it help 10-15ft from the camera? Maybe
Will it light up a 30-40ft area like a 5442 S3 with IR on? No

Add to it the problems @steve1225 mentions above. Specifically this:
very high digital processing - non stop digital sharpening and WDR like effect etc)..

I'm actually removing a full color HFW5849T1-ASE-LED with the big 1/1.2" sensor today from an area that has decent ambient light, it still sucks. The day image is of course great, but no matter what i do the night image is horrible. I'm replacing it with a 5442 Z4 S3 as I need good facial ID in that location at about 20ft and the full color camera has so much digital noise its not up to the task.

I think I'll go with 5442 afterall .. the turret model is T54IR-ZE correct? or what model number is it on Andy's Amazon store?
