Hi,
Anyone recommend an IR illuminator that is more floodlightish and has 300ft or more range?

the only way your gonna reach 300 feet is with a narrow-range spot.

i don't know of anything that will effectively cover a wide field of view (90 or greater) out to 300ft.

what is your application for this? what sort of cam(s) are you lighting for? how much are you willing to spend?

What to light up my backyard to catch a person vandalizing my property. The block wall is about 50-75 feet. Yes, I want to cover 200 feet because this will me mounted about 12ft high and need to get every details. Using Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE
 
can you put lights out by the wall?
the wall is 50-75 away? or 50-75 feet long and 200 feet away?
where does the 300 ft come from?
maybe a diagram or google satellite view would make more clear what you mean.
 
The block wall is about 50-75 feet away. Block wall is 6ft high. 200ft 300ft - I am sure this is the edge of the spotlight? If so, that means that the middle of the spotlight will be about 100-150ft away. Also, most product aren't accurate on their spec. For example, some manufacturer would say 200ft when actually it is 150ft. So going over to what I want would meet my expectations.

I can put one near the wall but it wont light up beyond the other side of wall.

pick your camera and adjust the focal length in the advanced section to simulate your zoom.
if you want to be able to ID someone (not just see that there's somebody there), you really need 100ppf or more.
your 12mm lens gets you 64ppf @ 75ft, so I understand why you'd want higher zoom, but of course that
will reduce the width of your view at that distance, (you haven't mentioned the LENGTH of the wall)
so you may need several cams to cover it. Get the pixels at the distance you need first, then add lighting as needed...

it's got several 1/4-20 threaded holes, so any camera or small speaker mount will work. eg:

for temporary setups, i use the clamp from a clamp-lamp:

notice the blue tape over the light sensor so it always comes on when i plug it in.
when powered via PoE splitter on my managed switch, i can turn it on/off in the switch's GUI...

Google infrared off road lights. Several companies make all configurations spot, flood, combo 850nm, 940nm. Rigid is one of the big players. The knockoffs can be had for much less and are usually the more desirable 850nm for cameras vs the 940 high ends for stealth hog hunting etc. You can run them off a 12v power supply. For a price you can light up your property like a football field (to the camera anyway) with infrared.
Cctv infrareds tend to be smaller and lower powered, but off road IR is intended for vast illumination.

Has anyone replaced the LED's in the solar outdoor lights with infrared lights? Would seem like a simple way to light up a dark area on the cheap.
 
thought about it, but seems like a lot of work to unsolder & replace individual LED's.
probably cheaper to just buy the right IR unit to begin with, unless you really can't find a form factor you like...
