Hi,

just wondering if anyone could point me to a good ir illuminator in the uk. I am using a ptz as a camera to capture plates. I can get very good reads at closer distance (20m away). But having issues at 50m. Ideally the best angle is the one at 50m. But it seems to me that the built in ir light struggles a lot. I have to put gain up which increases noise a lot. The ptz specs show 50m max ir.
does anyone in the uk have or know of any type of illuminator which is capable of 100m.

i know there’s a company called raytec. But they are EXPENSIVE. Ideally i'm looking at around £100. (the ptz was only £200)

At 50m you need a powerful one like a Raytec or Axton.

If I took all my attempts at buying $40-$90USD illuminators and added together it is less than I spent for the RayTec. It is that good.

The Tendelux looks amazing. I had a similar unit, but did not feel good from irradiating the whole neighborhood to collect plates, and ended up using a narrow beam IR to focus on the small area of interest.
