Is internet required for access by iOS app in the same network?

I've blocked the internet access from the PC running BI.
When I am away from home, I still can access BI through VPN.
By the same logic, can I use the iOS app connected to my home network via VPN to access BI?
Or does BI need internet connection to work as a server?

You are correct. when away from home If you connect your IOS device to your home network via VPN you will be able to access BI via the app or UI3.
