Is it possible to add more than 16 cameras to a 16 camera NVR?

I have 14 IP cams on my LTS LTN8716 (Hikvision clone). I've seen posts on adding a PoE switch to add more cameras. But since my NVR is 16 channels, I can still only record 16 channels correct?

Correct. 16 channels maximum. Doesn't matter how they're connected.
