I use an app to work with a video stream in RTSP from a Dahua camera.

This app need an aspect ratio of 4:3
Only 4:3

In menu of my camera I see only these resolutions:
2688*1520
2560*1440
2304*1296
1920*1080
1280*960
1280*720

Only 1280*960 is 4:3 aspect ratio
But i need better quality
The crop factor is not important

Read the API documentation available to me.
Did NOT find how to set non-standard permissions.

Found some strange commands that do nothing.
My examples (that do nothing):
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[1].Video.resolution=1920x1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[1].Video.CustomResolutionName=1920x1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[1].Video.Height=1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[1].Video.Width=1920
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[1].VideoEnable=true

/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[2].Video.resolution=1920x1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[2].Video.CustomResolutionName=1920x1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[2].Video.Height=1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[2].Video.Width=1920
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[2].VideoEnable=true

/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[3].Video.resolution=1920x1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[3].Video.CustomResolutionName=1920x1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[3].Video.Height=1440
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[3].Video.Width=1920
/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[3].VideoEnable=true

Maybe someone has already done something similar

This public allows everyone to find a solution if the problem has already been discussed before.
If you have something to describe - describe it here.
The next people who will ever read this will be grateful to you

There are some cameras that offer it via software and some cameras that have it built in. Best use the Mobile App or Desktop app and or WebUI of the camera. Off my head here are some that should work
Dahua IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2
4MP, offers selectable resolutions, including 4:3 formats.
Supports corridor mode and advanced image adjustments.

Amcrest IP8M-T2599EW and IP8M-2493E
8MP UltraHD model with configurable resolutions and corridor mode.

Dahua IPC-HFW5442E-ZE
4MP camera with large 1/1.8" sensor, AI features, and flexible resolution/aspect ratio settings.

In general
Dahua/Amcrest Models and Features

Models with Adjustable Resolutions (4:3 Aspect Ratio)
Many Dahua and Amcrest IP cameras allow you to switch resolutions in their settings. If the sensor natively supports 4:3 resolutions, you can select them in the software. Look for cameras with the following resolutions:
1280x960 (1.3MP)
1600x1200 (2MP)
2048x1536 (3MP)
2688x2016 (4MP)

Corridor Mode (90°/270° Rotation)
Corridor Mode is a feature found on many Dahua/Amcrest cameras. It lets you rotate the image by 90° or 270°, effectively turning a 16:9 camera into a vertical aspect ratio, which is equivalent to a tall 9:16 format. While this isn't strictly 4:3, it can help in applications where a narrower field of view is required.

Supported Models:
Dahua WizMind and WizSense series
Amcrest ProHD series (e.g., IP3M-941, IP4M-1026)
Some Amcrest UltraHD 4K models (check specifications for rotation capabilities this would be by down scaling)

I am sure there are more that is what comes to mind right now however.

This might be funny, but I have exactly this problem with a 2431 series camera (IPC-HDW2431TP-ZS-S2)
Only 1280*960 is 4:3 aspect ratio

Ok as I as saying that Encoding is one way, Please log in to the Cameras WebUI again, This time click on the Setup, then should be on Conditions, if not click on camera, then conditions, then in the top page Under Picture should be an area at the bottom that says FLIP.. Then in there it should offer 90, 180, 270 and 0 is normally the main settings... Anyway if you happen to change that to 90 or 270 depending on how you want to point the camera. Worse case you can Mirror if not facing right.. This option is also in my 4mp Dahua IP4MP-N45EFN2 color night with 4 white leds and a 1/1.8" sensor with F/1.0

Edit: This is not how I run this camera just showing you what it looks like as stated above..
