Is the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E still the way to go?

I have a single IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E working through OpenALPR, it works pretty well. Some issues with nighttime vision, which I gather is a known issue (I'm hoping I can make a script to correct it's nighttime exposure levels). I'm not on site with the camera so haven't been able to experiment much.

I need to buy another camera, and was going to buy the same one. Is this still the camera of choice for low cost ALPR? Or is there something else people would now recommend?

And is Andy still the recommended source for these? I emailed him a few days ago but haven't heard back.

There is the newer upgraded version: IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E, which has a little better specs. I have two that am in the process of installing for LPR duty.
