Is Vivotek ND9441P any good?

Hi there,

I'm helping my brother out who purchased a restaurant with an existing security cam setup up. They have a Vivotek ND9441P with 16 cameras. The former owners weren't tech savvy and don't have any documentation or know the user/password. Looks like someone set it up for them and that's it. I guess we'll have to reset it so we can create a new username/password (unless by some miracle we find the original). But the real question is, is this machine any good? I don't know when it was installed, or what kind of cameras are hooked up to it (I'll find out when I go up there in a few weeks). Or should we junk it and get a new system? I've already been eyeing an EmpireTech NVR16CH-16P-2AI for one his other restaurants. There aren't a lot of reviews out there for this Vivotek, and it seems to be discontinued.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

For the Price that NVR and 16cameras.. Great NVR.. Going to be a lot of work if you don't find the paperwork for the NVR and cameras.. I would do almost anything to try and get the password and learn about the system as it is connected right now. Might be able to log in and do a Password change that lets you change all the cameras as well. as it is right now, Would need to reset NVR and 16 cameras that is a lot of work lol.. Unless they left the cameras setup as stock user and pass then not to hard.. But my guess is they are not stock and will require being reset..

Plus might be setup with some good settings for VCA that make the system work well.. I mean sure there is always room for improvement over time..
