Hi, I'm currently using IVMS 4200 ver 2.00.8.50 with some chinese region cameras running 5.2.5 firmware hacked to english. All is good but I'm considering updating 4200 to the latest version at some point. Am I likely to get any language mismatch errors ? Do Hikvision even build this into 4200 at the moment ?

Thanks

It doesn't check so you'll be fine. Also you could just re-install 2.00.8.50 if you hit any problems, it's not like a firmware update.

Thanks. I was 99% sure that was the case but it seemed odd that I updated to 2.3.05 and it installed ok but would always quit loading at about 10% when I started it up. Never managed to get it working. I've just installed 2.3.1.3 though and that works fine. I was starting to wonder whether the newer version of ivms rejected hacked cameras but that is obviously not the case.

Well, that was interesting. My 2332 arrived today, bought from eBay from a company I've used before. Instead of hacked 5.2.5 it has 5.3 chinese on it and ivms refuses to add it, stating "language mismatch, change language of client".
I downgraded to ivms 2.00.08.50 again and it still would not play with the new camera as it is an english language only version of ivms.
Thankfully the 5.3.0 to 5.2.5 downgrader available on this forum worked flawlessly.

Use my custom downgrader for 5.3.0 camera's and your camera will work again in IVMS-4200 and it will also be in English
