I have a home network and a single router which both my laptop and PC are connected to.

Running IVMS4200 on both the laptop and PC shows difference online devices on my network. Running SADP shows the same difference.

In short, the PC can see 8 devices (correct number) and the laptop can only see 7.

Is there an obvious reason for this that I am missing? Help please!

Thanks

What's the extra device type / model that shows both on iVMS4200 and SADP on the PC?
Are the SADPs the same version?
Are all the devices Hikvision?
Many non-Hikvision devices these days run a 'hikserver' that provides a basic interface with SADP / iVMS4200.

The devices are all Hikvision. 6 of them are IP cameras, one is a video intercom door station (DS-KD8003-IME1) and the 8th device is an all-in-one Indoor Station (DS-KH9510-WTE1).
The SADP and IVMS4200 versions on the laptop are the latest versions from Hikvision's website.
The SADP and IVMS4200 versions on the PC are slightly older versions from last year.
It is the Indoor Station (DS-KH9510-WTE1) which is not showing in the list of Online devices on the laptop but it doers show on the PC.

Hikvision devices answer to SADP this way:

When you open SADP or press refresh, UDP packet is sent on broadcast 239.255.255.250 on port 37020

All hik devices using hikserver isten to that broadcast adress and port.

When they see a UDP packet, they response and SADP pick that up.

Most issues with devices not showing sometimes is probably Network or device u run software from related.

Indeed it is a weird that you cannot see only 1, but there can be explanation for this as well. Is monitor using wifi mode? Is broadcast disabled on wifi to wifi? Your laptop was using wifi?

wifi to wifi broadcast presented alot of troubles in my experience so far, so be sure to check out if thats the case.

Exact byte array here from my custom app.

Ofc this was just a try to replicate SADP UDP stream, easier way is just to use SADP SDK.
