IVMS4200 Codec?

I have a bit of footage that I need to pass to the police. I use IVMS4200 to remote playback from the DVR, and press record on IVMS for the right footage. It saves the files as mp4, but Windows 7 Media Player won't play this file.

So, if I pass this MP4 to the police, they are verly likely going to run into the same issue.

I then downloaded Format Convert 3.1 from Hikvision's site. But I find this software clumsy, and the few resulting video I succeed in converting were lower quality than the original (even at 1080p).

So, am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way of exporting footage for general viewing?

Mp4's are fine (the police are kinda up to date and will know what to do with it) ... but if your pc doesn't have the right codecs installed, then Windows media player wont play them.

Lots of options, but I suppose if want to use that player then this should do

I've been looking for this codec too. The software manual says there is an export feature. I definitely cannot find it on the PC software.
