I'm fairly new to NVR but after doing what you would probably consider "superficial" research I decided on the HIK DS900 with 16 channels because I can use it with my current Lorex cameras, which claim 1080P but are analog. All the wiring is already ran for them and they work fine enough but I want to expand. Going forward I intend on only adding IP cameras. I got the hybrid on Christmas Eve but it is literally still in the box and I'm realizing I may be in a bit deep. I plan on reading the owners manual twice, which I downloaded from HIK's website but does anyone have any specific advice with regard to this system?
I've already purchased:
8 Channel Power Supply for existing Analogs
2 different kinds of cameras for the new system
2x DS-2CD2755FWD-IZS 5MP Outdoor Network Dome Camera with 2.8-12mm Lens & Night Vision
1x Hikvision DS-2CD2043G0-I 4MP Outdoor Network Bullet Camera with Night Vision & 4mm Lens
CAT 6 UTP in line couplers
3 switches as I have an Orbi Mesh System with a router and 2 satellites,
a bunch of Slim Cat 6
Hook And Loop Tape

I guess some specific questions are how important and what kind of uniterrupted power supply should I get?
What do you guys do for cable manangement? My current system is spaghetti and I would very much like to change that. That is why I bough the hook and loop.
Is there something crucial that I am missing?
Any general "friendly" advice would be much appreciated. I realized that is probably more system than I need but I've always liked tech.

In general, it's best to not use domes outdoors do to reflection issue's and the dome degrading over time.
Bullets have more issue's with spider webs.
Turrets are best outdoors.
Best to avoid using the inline couplers. Pull a new cable
Don't pass any of the security cam videos over wifi, in any shape or form. You'll regret it.
Don't use the slim cat 6, it won't perform properly for POE cams. Only use Solid Copper cable either in 23awg or 24 awg wire gauge., not copper clad aluminum.
Monoprice is a good place for cables.

Stick with a 1500va APC ups.

Use a rack and a punch down panel.
See the WIki for more install info.
Also study this on a real computer: Cliff Notes

Thanks for the input. I actually learned a ton after reading Resource Guide on IP Technology for all Noobs But before I did so though i bought a fair amount of slim cat 6 from Monoprice. Do I definitely need to return it If I need it for POE?
