Large HDD partitioned, 2 Cameras

Not sure about this, but I plan on purchasing a large hdd and partitioning it into two drives and having two cameras recording to them 24/7. Will there be issues with one physical drive writing two recordings at the same time? Should I just create two folders on one drive or is this the same but different?

Partitions are unnecessary. I don't think they'd really do anything to help you, they could even shorten the life of the drive a bit in this case (hypothetically).

If you use VMS software you can most likely (depending on the software) allocate storage quotas for different cameras if you want to retain some recordings longer.
