Morning All,

I have been struggling to get email alerts working on my Laview via gmail. I am using DHCP on my NVR's network setup and confirmed I can ping and get to it via browser without any issues, also confirmed the gateway/subnet/ip is not conflicting and correct. Below are my advanced networking settings for SMTP:

Sender: Alias name
Sender address: user@gmail.com
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 587 (tried port 25/465 as well -(also port-forwarding to the NVR in router)
Enable SSL
Attached Image 5 seconds
Username: my gmail email
Pw: the pw it generated for me using 2auth MFA with "lesser" apps
Receiver: my personal email address

On the event tab I've enabled motion detection, setup the area settings (in this case I am monitoring the entire grid), clicked "arming schedule" and confirmed it is setup for 24 hrs and under Normal Linkage I have checked "Send Email" and "Notify Surveillance Center" > Trigger Channel the associated camera I am setting it up on (in this case D1).

What am I missing here? Ty for any help!

GMAIL changed their security and the lesser apps no longer works. You need to set up two factor and create an app password for the NVR

This is for Dahua NVR, but the gmail stuff is the same

Just a few found in 20 seconds typing GMAIL in the title in the search function LOL :lmao:

Gmail Shuts Down 3rd Party Apps
It appears today google is enforcing their new rule of not allowing 3rd party (IP video cameras) to send email through their servers. Anyone found another service or solution? Myself and a few others were using the Event action in an Axis camera to send a snapshot to gmail of triggered events.

Dahua NVR - Email setup with Gmail and the changes to less secure apps coming up on 5/30/22...
GMail is making a major change to their email security settings on 5/30/22, that might break allowing emails from Dahua devices when sending through GMail as things were previously configured, but I found this link earlier today on the Dahua Wiki which was actually just put up within the last 48...

5.5.7.3 / Gmail Oauth in general

Using Gmail with Blue Iris. Posted by BI Tech support.
I spotted this on Youtube and thought that it might be helpful.

Looks like using GMAIL to send alert images may stop working on 30-May-2022....
Just noticed this email on the gmail account that I use to send alert images.......

GMAIL to no longer allow less secure apps

Thanks, but I already did this and generated the PW which the NVR is using and it still doesn't work. See where I mentioned I turned on 2f auth.

In that case, I would confirm the password is correct. It has worked for everyone else, so if the password is correct, could your personal email address be blocking it as spam?

I checked the junk folders, not there. Is there an smtp log on the NVR I can pull? Don't see any logs to look at. I changed the generated PW twice, hasn't worked.
