I would love to be able to edit my Laview system recorded video. I can only play it back through their player. Anyone have any experience getting a coded for Laview video?

I don't think it's as simple as a codec. It's H.264 in an MP4 wrapper. I think they have a broken method of writing the file. VLC can "play" the file, but only shows the first frame. And VLC can normally play anything.

What I did was use handbrake to re-encode the video so it would play on a regular player. But it takes time to re-encode.

Here's what Handbrake tells me regarding the file.
I got the kit LV-KN988P84A4. Not sure the exact model of the NVR.

NOTE: I dropped the file on Handbrake.

Yep about 70% of my captured videos get that error!! For sure they have an issue, and I have opened a case to get this fixed. This is not acceptable. Video Analysis software shows errors.

Since LAView is basically a Hikvision, does anyone know if they get this same problem? Wondering if putting a Hikvision firmware on my device will resolve this problem.
