It mentions in the help document that 4 different lines are configurable but I can only seem to get one. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

@fenderman... thanks and that's a bummer. Sighthound does a decent job with this but I'm just testing all my options at this point. Does Blue Iris offer line crossing detection. If so, I must have overlooked it. Thanks again, your help with all this has been invaluable!

Blue iris does not offer line cross at this time. In the release notes the developer indicates that he is planning on adding motion filters and in an email to me confirmed line cross as one of those filters..I have no idea about the time frame for implementation...you can email and ask.

What's the major difference between motion detection and line detection?

Line crossing detection allows an alert to trigger only when motion is detected crossing a line in a certain direction of your choosing in the field of view of your camera. Normal motion detection would pick up any motion in the FOV no matter where and in any direction.
