Looking for POE nest cam

Hi all,

I have a POE+ line ran out to a great place for a bird nest/cam but i already have a box built and ready to go. I really just need to know if there is a good POE camera available to purchase solo that has that perfect wide angle + close focus already good to go.

All these pre-builts are $150+ and run off solar/wifi which i would like to avoid.

If you can find a Sercomm RC4551 on eBay, go for it.
It's 1080P, POE, IR, close focus, RTSP, has audio, works with VLC or Blue Iris, has an embedded webGUI.

Go to eBay and search for "Sercomm RC4551".
It's 1080P, POE, IR, close focus, RTSP, has audio, works with VLC or Blue Iris.
Build your own bracket as in the 2nd image below with plumber's tape.
It's not waterproof but in a sheltered birdhouse, should be OK.
I've had one in a bluebird house over a year now.
I installed a small heatsink on the back to help with our 90 degree summers.

Almost forgot: if hard pressed to find the Sercomm RC4551, it's kin the Sercomm OC432 will work well. It's also 1080P, audio, RTSP, POE, IR, works with VLC and Blue Iris and has an embedded webGUI. it may be a tad harder to mount with its single rear screw but plumber's tape can work miracles in the hands of an imaginative person!

Here's some YT video from the live stream that ended the next day on 5/13 when both birds fledged about 3:10 PM. If more nest building starts I'll go live again; we usually get at least 2 broods a season, sometimes 3. The video below is the first brood of this spring, she laid the eggs the last week of April. It takes about 12-14 days for them to hatch.

If you wind back to about 7 AM you can see the IR operate in reduced lighting, or when the house opening is blocked by the adult or the babies.

Nice, 1 male and 1 female. Love Bluebirds. Never get lucky around here to get them to nest in my bluebird box. Been about 4 years now. They will start a nest and get Evicted by the House sparrows. Last year I thought the pair was going to make it but lost it again to the house sparrows..
 
You could also use one of @EMPIRETECANDY 's regular IP camera's.
I used a surplus IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2. I opened it up, removed the glue that's on the lens thread and refocused the lens.
Easy to do if you have the camera powered on and use live view to focus the lens.

I made a simple box and installed it on 5 April. Unfortunately no takers. I think it was the next day one bird stood in the entry hole but left immediately.
Since this camera's IVS can only detect humans and vehicles (and no animals), I use simple motion detection.
This did detect bird standing on top of it (I think; box shook a little and I heard the birds on the camera's audio).
But since then DMSS only sends notications of ants and bees in the box.

And I probably have to tweak the video settings, since it stays in black/white/night mode 24/7.
But since there's nothing inside; there's no rush to do so...
