Hi Folks,

I'm in the market for a new POE cam with features like a cross between the Hik DS-2CD2332-I and the DS-2CD2432F-IW. Essentially, I want 3mp, IR to 20M or so, and a mic, for indoors. So, a cube, or turret in the same price range as the above two (under $150 at Amazon, etc.) would be fine.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Oh, and this is simply for a home/residential situation. Nothing fancy, but wide angle, so I assume a 2.8mm lens. . Thanks!

Paul

@xyrium If you are using it indoors why not simply use a 2432...if you need the extra IR, use an external illuminator..or just get a new 4mp dome and add an external mic..Dont buy on amazon unless you know the seller is shipping US region cameras or else you will have problems with firmware upgrades (Which may or many no be an issue for you)..

Dahua makes a 4300c turret style cam with mic (no speaker)..but the viewing angle is much narrower than the hikvision...

The Dahua site says that the 4300C is available in a 2.8mm lens. Perhaps that's the solution. Thanks guys. Is there a sticky on ipcamtalk that has some links to reputable resellers that use USA firmware?

The 4300c with a 2.8mm lens has about the same fov as a hikvision with a 4mm lens..

I have a 2.8mm HDW4300C... I'd say it's almost identical to the Hikvision 3MP 2.8mm.

3.6mm is almost same as Hikvision 3MP 4mm lens.

Also, firmware isn't upgradeable so just get a Chinese version and save some money.

In my testing the 4300c at 2.8 was the same as a hik 4mm (running in 1080p mode)...the image on the hik is much better particularly in low light when still in day mode, the dahua image turns poor in low light day mode.

Ah I was comparing 3MP vs 3MP... maybe that's why.

I found the Dahua was better in day mode during twilight! Arrrggghhhh.... I need to get my comparison rig setup asap.

To be fair i did not set them up side by side, i replaced a 2032(swann clone) with a 4300c, then swapped the 2032 back...then looked at the video to compare..
