Lorex LNB8005B-C and Dahua firmware (Solved with instructions)

thanks for this great information. I was able to update my costco lnb8005-c to the IPC-HFW4830E-S. I am curious which firmware people are using. There appears to be 2 versions that are very similar. Both can be loaded after the conversion process. They appear to be the same other than the version number and Languages. The first one is Eng/span/fr. while the other has many more.

DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000013.0.R.191202.bin
DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000014.0.R.191203.bin

from what i have seen the 202 might be preferred?
thanks.

if i remember correctly, i think the newer version (14) limits the max bitrate available in the video config page for the main stream to 8196, while the earlier one allows that to be set a bit higher...
the PN vs NP indicates both support Pal and NTSC formats, the first being default for that firmware. Not really relevant or a problem for most people, tho it may affect exposure rates available in the image config pages (multiples of 50 vs 60). Can always switch from one to the other anyways, as long a s the FW supports both...

Hi all, I am new here. I bought a Lorex setup at Costco awhile back with 6 LNB8005-C. I wanted to move my cameras on to a Synology NAS, and use Surveillance Station. However, the ONVIF profile failed to detect/configure. This seems to be a common problem. I read some of these threads with great interest but kept failing to find the firmware mentioned.
Using this link: Index of /images/LX/Firmware

I found and downloaded: LOREX_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Internal_NP_Stream3_V2.640.00LR000.20.R.180914.bin ( )

I used the web interface, and it is slow but it did complete the update on the first camera I tried. It now reports as this:

Device Type LNB8111
System Version 00020
Build Date 2018-09-14
WEB Version V3.2.1.582554
ONVIF Version 16.12 (V2.4.3.574996)

Was able to get it to be recognized as ONVIF, so that seems good. Where is everyone getting the other firmware from, the wiki doesn't seem to have it when searching for "IPC-HFW4830E-S"

If find one of these files, do I need to do more to upload it, or will it work like the above upgrade did?

DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000013.0.R.191202.bin
DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000014.0.R.191203.bin

Thanks!

Update! I found this link randomly mousing over other cameras FW D/L links! Index of /images/Files/Firmware

After the update, it just reboots, no changes.

in any case, the DH firmware that I've found to work well for these is from here:
New Firmware for IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000013.0.R.191202.zip

I am kind of intrigued by the capabilities y'all have mentioned for the above FW. The firmware that did load doesn't seem to accurately reflect the cameras capabilities as far as FPS etc. I am setting up a TFTP server now and seeing how I fair. Worst case I have all the tools to go serial or flash a SPI rom directly if it has one. Thanks for all the info!

FYI, same process works to upgrade LNB8111 (previously on Lorex v20).

I went straight to V2.800.0000013.0.R, Build Date: 2019-12-02 via tftp.
Hi,

I got some LNB8111-c, what firmware did you use initially with command.txt ?

Will appreciate your help

the PB133e fw here: DahuaWiki does have IPC-HDW1320S-V2 in the check file, so it does make sense that it works for that cam. i think you were unable to load it from the web GUI as you had already loaded the Dahua fw... it most likely would have loaded fine in the web UI from the original (earlier) Flir fw..to the

@pozzello, sorry to dig up an old post. i have the same Lorex LNB3163B. I'm unable to upgrade to the firmware IPC-HDW1320S-V2 listed on the Dahuawiki. Like @Ross Cullen, WebUI doesn't work; it says only "failed to upgrade". I've used the Dahua config tool as well as the SmartPSS; both return a similar response.

What did I miss?

I have a Lorex NVR. The UI is slow and dated. Since I am running a Synology, it makes sense to move everything over. The challenge is, I can't add the Lorex LNB3163B to Surveillance Station until the ONVIF version is updated to 2.6.2.

Any information is appreciated.

This has been really helpful. Thank you to all for your contributions.

I managed to flash a FLIR P143E4 4MP Outdoor Network Dome Camera successfully...

but my Lorex LNB3163B cameras (2016) make no attempt to initiate a TFTP connection on 192.168.1.108 (monitored using configured TFTP server, Ping and Wireshark). I tested the Flir camera that worked initially and I can see that ping. Would be interested if anyone had any thoughts/suggestions or has been able to flash this particular camera model. Thanks
Hi Ross, I have FLIR P143E4 which I need the latest firmware for. Would you happen to know where I can get it? Or where I can get any version of firmware at all?

Hate to dig up an old thread but I am missing some critical detail. Specifically, what is the commands.bat that is constantly mentioned but not supplied? The link on the other threads to the tools where this files is located is broken. I see my cameras hitting my TFTP server but the are looking for a file called upgrade_info_7db780a713a4.txt Presumably that is created with the commands.bat file? Can someone supply either of these files so I can fix ONVIF on my LNB8005-C cameras?
Thanks
G

I was able to finally figure it out with the help of a few different forum members. Thanks!

This firmware was the latest I could find that ran without issues but seems to be missing features like IVS, Face Detection, Smart Plan that should be there according to other threads.
