I went to bed the other night with hisilicon # prompt showing on NCOM was able to *** went thru setenv ip comands......got almost to run up command. Something happened while typing - i have to look at my keyboard - but was satisfied i'd get it the next day after some sleep.

I am now at a point i cant see anything on the NCOM window. Gonna rest up for a while and try again. (NVR is OK. It's default to factory.

I've done most of the recomended stuff. It's probably my ignorance of tftp server - how to set it up.... Why it wants to change to loopbak ip...

OK I'll get back on it in the future. Like i said i made it almost to the run up command....damnet. Maybe i should have sat up all night trying?

Gotta work tomorrow.....wish i coud say i'll try again soon...but ....got some honey do things that seem to take priority over my frustrating camera/nvr time.

crazy...

gotta be my inability to do TFTP on an nvr with db9 console ...

OK. The original thread said if you can't see anything on NCOM app you have a serial connection issue. I went to bed the other night thinking i'll get it tomorrow but never could get back to where i was......ordered a new null modem cable along with a db9 to usb with a fancy chip in it.
Decided to take my nvr back to the basement and looked to see if i had a db9 ioio connection on my computer down there...well it has two. So i threw a cheap switch in the floor, hooked my nvr network cable to it along with unplugging my basement desktop from my router and plugged it into the switch....set up my nic's in the nvr and computer to be similar.
Plugged in the db9 null modem cable to the easiest db9 ioio port to access and opened NCOM...it showed connected at the top, basicaslly did all the work for me.

So i must have a bad db9 on the computer upstairs. Maybe it went bad while i was asleep.

I got so excited i started doing the trick before realizing i hadnt pointed any file or pasted the img file to the tftp root file.....damn

Here is what i got ....

So before i go at it again....i've extracted all the files from DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_Eng_V3.215.0000000.3.R.20171211 but i think all i need is the img file installed into my tftp root folder. Not the entire contents extracted. Does it matter if i put all the extracted files into the tftp root file or just the img file? I've read the Lorex to Dahua thread that MixManSC told us how to do this several times and not sure if all i need is the img file from all the extracted files. Hate to fuk this up more than i have....it's becoming not fun anymore....no shit.

I'll be happy if this works but if not i'll trade this nvr for a paperclip...because i think i read where someone started with a paperclip and got a dam house after multiple trades....:idk:

So before i go at it again...

setenv bootdelay 9
enter
6) saveenv
enter
7) setenv serverip 192.0.0.128
enter
8) setenv ipaddr 192.0.0.64
enter
9) setenv gatewayip 255.255.255.0 (192.0.0.1)
enter
10) setenv netmask 192.0.0.1 (255.255.255.0)
enter
11) saveenv
enter

12) type: reset
hit enter

Hit *** before the countdown ends
type: run up
hit enter

I have changed the gateway and netmask ip's above...see in parentheses. Makes more sense to me but haven't tried again......soon!

assuming computer is 0.128 and nvr is 0.64...

NVR5XXX-4KS2_DH_MultiLang_V4.002.1CKA000.0.R.231205 was loaded via config tool so now i have rhe v4 interface.

I think that is a 2021 firmware. No tests made to see if any bugs are in it but i'm very happy. The ptz camera i fixed a week or two back should work perfectly. and i have more dahua cam's in my basement than any other kind.

But if they do not have good night vision they are worthless ro me.....

also just goi another ai code projest update on my blu iris. Life is good on some days.....
