I have an LAView NVR LV-N9608C8E, to which I have added other Annke, Amcrest cameras before. I just purchased the Annke NC800, which works fine when I connect directly through my router. I am able to choose the max resolution of 3840*2160 I have on my other NVR connect cameras. However, when I try connecting it through my NVR through either the ONVIF or Plug and Play options, I am only able to choose a max resolution of 640*480. Am I missing something or is it a compatibility issue with the camera and NVR?

Possible that you have reached the max incoming data limit for the NVR, it's only rated for 80Mbps incoming, which isn't much.
If you are using 30fps, try reducing the frame rate to 15fps in all the cameras, see if that free's up enough for the new cam.

Edit: That seemed to work. Thank you!

It looks like I have the option to either decrease the frame rate or video quality (highest to lowest) on the cameras. Would you recommend decreasing the frame rate over decreasing the video quality?

Hi @xrkzm

1) good to review if you want to upgrade your NVR / VMS setup ..
2) if you need good image capture for ID purposes .. look to reduce frame rates .. 5 fps even if needed ..

Yeah, I've been thinking about upgrading the NVR for a while. My main hesitancy is that my system came with 4 LV-PBK80804C cameras so I don't know if half the cameras on my system would work on the new NVR and if I would be able to reflash the firmware on the cameras

Does the Video Quality setting make a big difference in bandwidth vs image quality?
In the meantime, it looks like I can also set a max bitrate per camera. Should I cap some of my less important cameras so I can max out the ones I use most without going over the max bandwidth?

Thank you for your help!

Hi @xrkzm

In general I want quality images capture vs smooth video .. you have to decide what to throttle in this case .. limiting the bitrate on cameras which are watching less critical views can be useful. For the most critical cameras I want the best image capture.

Best is to start playing and testing around with one or 2 cameras, at various times and and acting as a prowler would to see the result of the video capture ( updated ).

Nice older Hikvision OEO 8MP camera .. should work well with a Hikvision OEM NVR, Hikvision VMS, 3rd party VMS like Blue Iris ..
