Good day ever one. New member here. Just wanting to know what will be a good location to mount HFW5241E Z12E camera to capture licence plates for traffic coming from the right side in the image.

I am attaching an image from my reolink duo at night time.

Also are there any cheaper options available if i was to install camera inside/ behind letter box which is just 3-4 meters away from road.

I have tried to search on cameras installed in letter boxes but havent had great luck on installs.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

If you’re only concerned with plates on vehicles moving right to left, anywhere on that corner of the house should be fine.
I’d aim it between that last tree to the left across the street and the next light pole

Orange is where I'd place the camera and red is where I'd put the camera towards.
Remember, this camera will only do one task, capture license plate. If you need an overview camera as well, add another camera.

Agree. That may be a little further than necessary but yes straight on is great if you have enough zoom. You have +/- 20ft of roadway there in that area to play with and some ambient light to help

One of mine is about a 35-40 degree angle at 110-120 ft in shade off and on during the day and does quite well

thanks for that mate :) I would like to know if I could do right side in that image. So in the image for incoming cars from right side of my driveway. Similar pictures as you have provided in your setup.

Also are there cheaper cams that I could put in letter box (front right of the pic), it's a lot closer to road. I could put 2 to cover both sides of road.

The big red circle is the side I want to capture. Purple for is where letter box is. 4-5 meters away from main road

The 54IR-ZE works well on a mailbox if the distance to where the plate would be is under 30ish feet.

It would be questionable if it would work at the distance you are looking at. The next cheapest is the Z12E or Z4E based on distance.
