Picked up a HFW5241E-Z12E and looking to install inside some type of enclosure... curious what solutions folks have come up with for this camera.
Bird house, faux rocks, etc.... going to be looking at a couple locations to install mine. Bird house on fence post, rock, etc
The box had a 6mm bullet facing the house with a 6mm looking South and a 2.8 looking North. I decided I wanted to change the cam facing West (to the house) for two reasons: I want a wider FoV to monitor the full width of the lot and ALSO I want to have an audio source (mic) at the mailbox. I...
A few months ago I was taking out the trash and while walking down the driveway I noticed a car stopping at our mailbox, opening it and driving away. It was dark so I know it was not the rural mail carrier. We live in a rural area and have had occasions of missing mail in the past. We don't have...
I built a box to hold two cams. I is in my garden behind a pine tree. It just went functional on Tuesday and I still have some slight tweaking of the exact positions of the cams within the box. But they are mostly where I want them.

I really like what you did here. I do feel the urge to add a suggestion... (especially since it is at ground level) the warmth of the cams is going to pretty much guarantee that you'll have critters making this a nest box really soon. I would suggest doing everything possible to seal the box up tight. And toss a few mothballs inside for good measure!
I have put holes in the bottom to drain any water that gets in. I also have two vent holes at the top sides. I have covered them with screening. Once the cams are secured in their final resting place, I will put weather-stripping around their access holes. Good idea about the moth balls.
So Ive been helping a buddy install a camera system over the past few months on weekends when we both can, and we've just about finished. (minus the Barn ptz GOAT cam we hope to have installed next week) Its a good sized lot and he had asked me to spec out the cameras and placement for him as...
I think for my solution a bird house with cam positioned to view plates is going to be ideal.. thx for the ideas. Was looking at prefab bird houses on Amazon but may just mockup own to ensure size of cam etc fits perfect.
Going to start looking for Birdhouse designs and materials at HD to ensure weather proof, moth balls etc
The wood shutters and columns on the porch are rough wood in a brown. I chose the color based on the best match to that color using a brochure from Home Depot. So I had the brown paint mixed and used a latex white primer.
