Here is a shot from my PTZ SD49225T-HN. I have motion set, so it will trigger a clip as soon as someone enters frame. And i have it recording continuous. So what would happen in your situation is, the camera will trigger a clip to begin recording when a car comes in view. It will continue to record as they turn around and that is when it will get the plates. You will need to zoom in to the choke point of that circle. Which is right before they swing right to do the uturn. I have presets setup and when i am done playing with the camera if i choose to look around at things. I will just hit my preset 1 and it will go back to LPR duty for night time. I never move it at night. I will be getting a dedicated LPR camera but i will still use this as an LPR camera. Good Luck. Here are a few captures from my PTZ.PTZ1.20200120_082648938_1.jpgPTZ1.20200119_182104304_1.jpg

Daytime all cams can watch the LP, in the night most cams not work well, only the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E or IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E.
