LPR setup help

Oh if on external switch then delete from NVR then factory reset - it can be done before or after put back up.

Or since external POE you could probably get by with just leaving it on same channel and not have to do anything.

Ok. Think I'll just see what happens by taking it down and putting up in the new spot without resetting. If it doesn't work correctly I can always factory reset after.

Which brings me to my next question. hah..

I have a camera, 54ir s3, that keeps losing connection. "Failed to find network host". It keeps power however.
I've tried a new ethernet connection, still does the same thing.

I have it at about 4 foot high, which means it gets nailed with weather, sun, etc... but I have it all waterproof etc...
I've also tried factory reset and still does the same thing.

Anything else to try? If it's a bad camera, I'll just leave it since it's just another view of my backyard.
 
Next step that I am sure you tried is disconnecting the other cameras and have just this one on the switch and see if it still happens and if so try a different cable.

Yeah, tried a different cable. But for me, not worth the effort on disconnecting 20+ other cameras just to see if this one will work.
Guess I'll just leave it as is. I still get cam most of the time, and it's really only for a different view in the backyard.

That, and I'm going to be placing the old 4kx s1 in the same area, so... :shrug:

This switch does have 52Gbps switching capacity. I would think I'm not coming close to that with 20 cameras. Since it still gets power... :shrug: no biggie.

Try disconnecting the cam and putting a different one in its place. If that one fails, then the switch port or cabling are to blame.

Take that cam and connect directly to a POE switch with a short, ready-made cable. If it still faults, try using a POE injector. At that point if it still faults, it is more than likely the cam is the issue.

This was my issue with a PTZ cam. I swapped it with w eyeball cam and the issue went away. Apparently the PTZ cam had an issue

That should work fine. The camera has no idea its been moved physically.
 
Yeah, I've tried two different cables that work fine with anything else. I've moved to a different port. Still gets power, just disconnects network.

Kind of a bummer since it's a S3. Maybe water got into the camera or the camera wiring part and just shorted the network connection part. :shrug:
I really don't have any other way of putting up a cam at that location, unless I do something like the camera mounted to a post like @Ri22o and some others have done.

But I'm pretty sure this particular camera is just screwed up somehow. Maybe I'll try getting a new cam in a few months and try the post idea. Dunno..

The new 4x s2 cam will be here tomorrow or Tuesday, but it's too dang hot to screw around with cameras outside. haha

I had a new -Z12E just quit accepting POE, but would work with a 12v wall adapter. I wonder if the opposite happened with yours.
 
Can these cameras quit if they reach a thermal limit?
Maybe try going with a lower stream rate and a lower FPS and see if it stays online.
