I've just acquired an LTS NVR (LTN8708, which is a rebranded Hikvision). I'm trying to sort out a method of notifying on exceptions beyond sending email.
My monitoring software runs on a linux platform... and I've tried enabling snmp traps, but that does not seem to send notifications on events like motion detection. I've also tried setting an "alarm host IP/port" as the linux box and had netcat listen on the port. This DOES do a notification, but I'm having trouble getting any documentation on the proprietary protocol being used.
Any advice on either getting SNMP traps to go out or documenting the notification protocol?
