Hey guys,

Here is my setup:

NVR Model - LV-N9808C8E firmware V3.4.82 Build 170301
4 cameras - 2x LV-PB3040W, and 2x LV-PB932F4 (All cameras are Power over Ethernet)

The problem: One of my LV-PB932F4 cameras is not working. There's no green or yellow light illuminated on the NVR ports for this camera. I have tested plugging the problematic camera (and cable that it is hooked up to) into the other working ports, and still no green or yellow light. HOWEVER, in the Maintenance page, I can see that the NVR is registering that there is power (average about 2.0w-3.0w) coming out of that cable and camera. In addition, I can see the red IR light ring on the camera. So I don't think there's any issues with the ethernet cable. I also tried resetting the camera (hold reset button 30 secs with PoE connected, 30 secs unconnected, 30 seconds reconnected, and nothing.

With my efforts to try and fix this camera, I accidentally reformatted my NVR to default and factory settings. I have manually reset all cameras to try to get this problem camera working. The three other cameras returned without issues, except for this LV-PB932F4.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks everyone.

Despite power being supplied, the cable could be a problem for data in several different ways.
Power uses different wires (depending on the PoE mode).
Power does not require the twisted pairs to be maintained, that data requires for signal integrity.
Do you have the facility to put the camera on a different cable, or run a different cable for testing?
What wiring scheme (T568A or B) is used on the cable, and was it pre-made or self-crimped?

Hey alastairstevenson,

Thanks for the reply. The ethernet cables were pre-made and came with the kit. I believe each cable is 100ft. long. Anyway, I just wanted to give you an update that miraculously, without having to do any further testing or system resets, the camera ended up turning back on and all is well. What an odd phenomenon. I appreciate the assist, and if this camera goes out again, I'll be sure to properly test the cable. Good thing I didn't end up buying another camera to replace this one.

All the best and thanks!
