Lessons for camera setups ... MORE cameras, you need to get a good set of images of the car they use, and maximize chances of good ID shots with getting enough pixel on their faces ..

Four people assaulted a man on his own driveway during an apparent attempted robbery in Connecticut.

Notice the areas you need to cover, none of the usual Cloud Cameras can cover out to these distances currently .. you need a tight FOV and thus magnification / stronger lens ..

you also need cameras low enough to get a good angle on their faces as they approach the parking area

locking the car would be good also ..

Car lights go on .. odd .. was the car on ?

Home Owner / Car owner is able to grab the hoodie and you can see the attacker now .. face is fully visible .. just need enough pixels and a good angle for a clear image capture ..

notice other attacker emerging from the parked car now ..

I'm pretty sure this is the same house where someone walked up at night and shot at his door?

Always have a Louisville Slugger close bye, homeruns on the knee caps. ;)
A baseball bat would not help much in this case with so many of them they could just overpower you, or they could pull a gun on you. A much better choice is if you can pull a gun on them first.

Although is very difficult to get gun license in some states.

For sure...guns no problem here and we can have high capacity mags as well. I did retire my bat years ago due to age :)

A few areas I would try to cover with this setup .. Street if I want to try to get the license plates at night I would want extra cameras for that, thus 1-2 cameras for the street areas ..
( 1 if no license plate capture at night .. )

Would you draw your gun in this scenario?

In California you are required to give them the key and $50 bucks to fill the tank and call them sir as not to offend them . If your car gets a flat tire while they are committing another robbery they will be able to sue you for the inconvenience of getting caught . You will be required to pay their attorney fees . ...But that is only in California

It can be complicated. (legally speaking)

In many States, you aren't authorized to use a firearm to protect property. So initially no, ....... but then again as I approached, I thought I saw a weapon in his hand, now we have legit Stand your Ground

Though too late, if he was armed and was lucky enough to retain it, once the 2nd and 3rd BG show up its clear disparity of force....game on

Perhaps good also if the 2nd person in the house have a firearm available also ..

Certainly if my loved one was being attacked ..

What about just coming outside with the AR in your hands pointed upwards? If he'd be able to do that and position himself to the right rear of the car, putting the suspect in the driver's seat between him and his compatriots, that would be enough to scare most people off.

And in many states you don't need the overlord's permission to exercise a right any longer.

This happened not too far from where I grew up. Firearms are very complicated in Canada.

I do understand why someone would be charged as the charges can be dropped later. It isn't a conviction and doesn't prejudice one's right of being considered innocent before being found guilty.
