Mini-Review EmpireTech IPC-Color4M-T

Just pulled the trigger on this cam in 3.6mm. Ordered one to test out at the front door. Wish it had a 6mm version.

it blocks / overwrite many image settings in camera...
and extends exposure time (check fast movement with AFSA)..

It doesnt seem to in B&W /IR mode.

Yes in color mode it’s a mess and likely does exactly what you mention .

I like that in AUTO mode it seems to disengage when the camera white LEDs come in and it switches to color.

It may depend on your other illumination settings

The videos shown are running NR at 43 with Exposure 0-5 or 0-5.5

As mentioned, the more I look at it, the 5442 provided a cleaner, better image. But this one picks up light much better.
There is more sensor noise than the 5442.

If color isnt a requirement, I'd stick with the 5442
IF you can get enough external light to run the 5442 in color, I would again choose the 5442

The big difference besides the noise is that ability to control the white/IR lights with very fast transition from an IVS rule.
And of course the carnival lights and siren if thats needed, and Two way talk (which Im having a problem with so far)

Argh! I wish you stated this yesterday. I bought one and it has shipped. Oh well, I am sure it will work out fine anyways.

I provisionally connected the camera for fun. The camera is behind a window pane. Absolutely no comparison to my old 3489R1 Tioc camera.

They're different. I didnt say bad.

Its a trade off, light sensitivity for noise, and a few other helpful features on the illumination choices.

But i think if you look at the videos, and I'll do another tonight, you'll be happy

Ina good or bad way?

Ok another clip. Minor adjustments. I took Gamma down a bit and brightness, not as washed out. And I increased NR to 47

There is if you look closely still some noise that hopefully can be limited more with FW update.
Im happy with little to no motion blur however.

Honestly though I'm going to go back to the settings I had yesterday. Its nitpicking, but thats what we do!
It is very sensitive to Gamma, Gain, sharpness. I think it wants to be much brighter than I prefer and I'm fighting trying to tone it down a bit

Also @steve1225 was right (again) about the ASFA in that it does play with exposure. Even though its stays set, it does override it. Good news is it seems to not effect color with the white LED's on very much. More noticeable in B&W. May just be my scene though and no downside, it does a good job of it.

Last nights settings. Full screen is the only way to see any difference and its slight

I think that is the best one yet. The word Toyota also looks more crisp, similar to the 5442 it replaced.

Any chance that pizza girl from your old place could be the next model :lmao:

I'm focused on the sensor noise. You may be right, my eyes (which arent good) are worn out tonight

Blast from the past for those that missed the Pizza girl
