Minimizing nuisance alerts caused by headlights?

Getting quite a few nuisance alerts from two overview cameras. Had been getting quite a lot more but I "erased" the side street and part of intersection from the trigger area. That cut it back nicely.

However, given the proximity to the street I'm still getting a fair number of alerts in the morning and evening when headlights from passing cars shine on the house.

What's the best way to try to minimize alerts from that cause?

I accept some nuisance alerts may be unavoidable but cutting back the couple dozen each morning and evening would be nice.

The cameras are recorded continuous so it's just about the email notifications and attachments/snapshots.

Try setting up zones and zone crossing. Headlights, and the shadows they cause, are a definite PITA and it can be a daunting task to get rid of those triggering things.

If you can, try to see about augmenting your setup with an alarm sensor, as often image based motion detection is not accurate enough.

Would you be able to provide an example of an alarm sensor you think might be of consideration?

I continue to struggle with the volume of nuisance alerts. I've added yet another cam to watch the short parking space in front of the garage door. It also captures part of the fairly busy street behind it so I get tons of notices.

I'm at the point where I'm considering turning off notifications from the outdoor cams and just having alerts from the cams inside the house and garage. They are all set to continuous record with roughly 2 weeks storage capacity on all cams.

This is a property on the other side of a relatively small town. I could (but don't presently) drive past every day on my way to/from work, with only a two-block detour from the most direct route. Right now, I do a drive by probably two or three times per week, including weekends. Thoughts on that approach - no outdoor alerts and occasional drivebys?

I've had good luck using the "Reset detector when object exceeds" option under object detection. Change this to something like 20%

Then go out and see if you walking in front of the camera still triggers the cam. If you don't trigger increase the % little by little. If you still trigger and still getting alerts from headlight... then reduce the number a little more.

a PIR would work well... one of those sensors work out to 16' or so and are not falsed by anything not heat-emitting.

Using HLC on the camera could minimize the headlights possibly.
