Hi,

I have only a single camera active at the moment, on a very slow PC - but it works! New PC due in the next few days.

Would a poor PC effect the motion detection capabilities?

VehicleMovement.jpg

BI doesn't seem to pick up any motion around the green car at the top of the shot. We can walk from the house towards the car without triggering the motion detection.

My motion settings are:-

MotionsSettings.JPG

The entire area to the right of the road is set as a zone - so that every car that drives past the house doesn't set off BI!

The record settings are:-

RecordSettings.JPG

Please can someone advise if these look OK?

Am I asking to much of my old server or I am beyond BI's capabilities?

Thanks

Matthew

Make sure your zone you want to record is green. Your settings for contrast and size should set it off. Set "show rectangles" and see if rectangles turn red. Slow computer will studded video but shouldn't affect motion ability with one camera.

Cheers Starman,

MotionArea.JPG

It looks ok to me! (the caravan isn't normally there!)

The server normally sits at about 80-85% CPU!

New machine has been despatched today.

Thanks

Try changing "show rectangles" instead of "highlight motion" and have someone walk through the frame. You should see green rectangles showing motion. When the rectangle turns red, it will record. If the rectangles don't turn red, tweak the settings for Make, Size & Contrast as needed.
