Hi,

I have three cameras set-up to monitor my cabin in a wooded area. On a sunny day when the wind is blowing the shadow from the trees will set-off the motion detectors.

Is there a setting in the software or someway I can have the motion detection ignore the shadows?

Thanks,

Rich

RichardTodd,

Welcome to the forum!
There's lot of info here, waiting for you to research. Basic questions have been asked and answered before, and active & knowledgable members get weary of answering them over and over. But they're more than willing to help w/ specific non-basic questions. That's just how things seem to work out here...

Motion Detect (MD) for outdoors sucks. There are alternatives. Some more detail below;

Are you using zone crossing. I found it useful to eliminate all shadow false alerts from trees etc. Only problem I still have is some trouble with bright sun and quick moving clouds.
