Motion Sensor - zone crossing questions

BI v4.5.7.2

I'm trying to configure BI to only detect objects that cross zones. I'm a little confused with all of the options, looking to confirm this is correct:

In a given camera, Properties --> Trigger

• selected "Motion Sensor", then under "Configure..."
  • selected "Object detection", then under "Edit..."
    • selected "Object travels: 100"
    • selected "Object crosses zones: A-B"
  • selected "Use zones and hot spot", then under "Edit..."
    • created zones A and B

This may seem like a trivial question, it's just that it seems odd that I have to defined the zones in a separate "Edit" window, and could have Object crosses zones selected without having Uses zones and hot spot selected.

don't use hotspot. That is completely separate to zones. I believe hotspot zone will trigger alert regardless.
