I recently set up a new camera system using 2 Reolink 511w Wifi cameras and Blue Iris at my remote cabin in the mountains. Just yesterday I installed the new version of Blue Iris that has the new Edge Vector option to see if it helps cut down the number of false positives due to cloud shadows. I've tried all the suggestions like object travel, zone crossings, and size exceeds and while they have helped, I still get a lot. Today was a partly cloudy day with lots of brightness changes and I only got a few false positives. I thought to myself that it would be nice if I could get some wildlife on camera to test out if the settings would work with an actual object. I can't believe I got this lucky! The Edge Vector option worked well even though the cat was fairly far away. I ran it through the Test run video playback option a few times to tweak parameters.
