I am going to attempt to mount my camera system to my home this weekend.

I purchased a LaView system with two 4MP dome camera (LV-PD5040) and two 2MP dome camera (LV-PD50208) which I believe are Hikvision cameras (4" diamater).

I was going to mount the cameras in the front of the home under the roof overhang, roughly 12' above the ground, and similarly with the one on the back of the house.

I was going to mount the side camera via an amazon dome camera plastic wall mount to a panel which will attach over my vinyl siding.

Is it advisable to mount these cameras directly under the roof overhang, or should I be using some sort of 3rd party mountng bracket?

If you can get access behind the soffit or siding, most people simply place a piece of 1x4 wood plank behind the soffit where they want to install, and drive mounting screws through the soffit into the 1x4. Simple, fast, easy. Cameras don't weigh a whole lot, so they don't need ridiculous amounts of support.
