A weekslong heat wave will intensify this weekend and push temperatures close to 130 degrees

They forgot to mention this was in Death Valley, who's summer temperatures normally get into the 120 degree temps....hence the name.....

My gas utility is constantly calling, sending fliers, and emails talking about transition to "renewable" gas (methane). Lots of talk, zilch on how that will impact cost.

I haven't looked into it yet, but the way utilities make money is a fixed percent of operating costs. Politicians formulate a plan for "green" energy in some small insignificant town that will do nothing to "fight" global warming, meanwhile raise the cost of basic utilities, impacting the poorest the most.

Utilities champion these genius politicians because their profits have just increased, because it's directly linked to the cost of providing that utility.

We're all left holding the bag.
