Currently using my 4 Hikvision IP cameras with iSpy on desktop PC, but would like to know if it is possible to do the following on a microserver with a single HDD using FreeNAS:
- Store footage from 4 IP cameras: 2 x 2132 - V5.1.6 build 140412, 2 x 2032 - V5.1.6 build 140412
- Store onto one HDD

If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Johnny

yeah that will be fine; Ive got 4x 1080p+ cameras recording to a micro server (CuBox) with an external disk; Its 90% idle and writing ~3.5MB/s; the server its self can easily write @ ~80MB/s from my benchmarks.. It should scale up to a few dozen cams if I could plug in enough storage.

offloading storage to a micro-nas is a great idea; it lowers the power requirements for a battery backup dramatically if you dont have to keep a power sucking pc-nvr online.
