beeping noise can be everything - from hdd problem starting..
what you mean there no cameras?

over web? over hdmi?

does interface shows (there are menus) but no camera feeds? or there is no interface at all?

first you should connect NVR over HDMI to any monitor/tv (plus mouse over USB) and check does it have HDMI interface?
If not, check other HDMI cable / HDMI input on tv..

also does web interface loads? can you login?

when it is not loop botting it will just show the blank camera page witht the squares and no camera images there, i jsut did some more testing, i took both HDD's out and started it up and it started up ok, again with blank squares and no camera images. so i added the cameras again and they were fine and working just no HDD beep.
i put one hard drive back in and worked again no problem and recorded.
i turned it off and took that hdd out and put the other on and the boot loop started, so i think i have a stuffed HDD.
and its outta warranty.
but atleast its working again, annoying it has lost the camera setup, i have to redo that.

with a hdd failure, whether it has one or 6 hdd's you would think it still show the cameras on the screen and with 2 or more hdd's it will keep recording with warning that one failed not just totally have a hernia and stroke and not work at all.

I have had several different NVR's with HDD failures and the cameras still show on the screen, even adding cams to one without a hard drive installed but I have never had the 608H-XX-XI.
I just tested by unplugging the HDD with a reboot and the images stayed, not sure whats up with your unit as to why you lost everything.

But you said you were able to add the device without the drive and it stayed?
This is with the new beta GUI that I just tried.

i dont know whether something corrupted somewhere or what went on. but whenever i put that faulty hdd back in it just sets itself in a nonstop boot loop

It may be a good idea to connect the known faulty harddrive to a PC and completely format. Then refit to NVR and format again, via NVR interface.
Worth a try if you have the correct sata/power cables for PC.

tried that, wont even recognise it, its screwed. as soon as you power it up you hear the heads banging around nonstop.
