What does every think about the latest NDAA ban? Seems the brands that were banned before.... There is that new ruling that means starting tomorrow, 7/15/2026, vendors are not allowed to sell the products. This is not only on the branded items from Hikvision and Dahua... but also vendor's products that used Hikvision/Dahua's FCC. Said to be a fine if caught. All new products will require the vendor to get FCC certification using their own name. So while the Hikvision/Dahua products would still be sold in the future, it is up to the importer to get FCC certification themselves. Products will not be labeled as the same products due to such but would say it is Hikvision or Dahua "compatible".

I haven't read the passage, but if it is as you outlined, as long as folks have a legit pathway I am OK with it. It beats the alternative of not allowing any OEM in.

I've heard previously that ADI sent all their Hikvision products back to Hikvision for credit and no longer carry their products. Some smaller distributors I seen bought these products at a discounted rate to resell a few months ago from Hikvision and were selling them at a slight discount. Now these same vendors are dumping these at insane discounts before this new rule goes into effect tomorrow.

Should only affect government / contract installs though
Consumer purchases through Amazon i.e. Andy's shop are still allowed
Remember, Amazon is the largest landfill creator in the world.

As far as my understanding, originally was said that jobs for government facilities or facilities using government funding needed NDAA compliant products. Hikvision/Dahua cannot receive FCC approval on any new products. Existing products that are already FCC approved are grandfathered in.

Now is the grandfathered in products cannot be sold. OEM products which Hikvision/Dahua had FCC approval done under their name cannot be sold. OEMs are still getting products from Hikvision/Dahua but they are using their own company to apply for FCC. The OEMs are more or less weary to provide a matrix saying what model number camera/device (from now banned product) is equal to what new model number camera/device due to being afraid of issues that may come up in the future. Interesting this is even though the OEM gets the FCC themselves.... they still can't label the product as NDAA so don't know what is the point as eventually whomever changes the law again would know which products to target.

I think for those online resellers that they do not list the products with a Hikvision/Dahua branding or model number. They have custom model numbers. Only way you can really tell is to compare spec sheets.
