I am looking for a camera viewer that lets me scan the network for cameras, with the ability to save passwords or create a profile so that I can scan for and view at random hundreds of cameras on a network without having to manually add them one by one. Only to start over with the next site that Im at. Currently I am using an android based IP camera testing tool that does this, but it is very buggy and constantly crashes. Looking for a reliabile windows based program here.

You said “reliable and windows” in the same sentence! If you were in charge of maintenance on a network with “hundreds of cameras” you wouldn’t be looking for a “free, reliable, windows” based solution.

Contrary to your preconceived notions windows is very reliable. I would agree that free is not something to look for in a specialized tool like this.

And “preconceived” is assuming you know anything about me. Forgive me if I’ve seen every windows computer in existence run slower every year with the bloated, untested updates. And there is not a world class hacker, state sponsored clandestine or 13 year old prodigy, who would use windows unless targeting it. Then you have the moral dilemmas of giving someone like Gates your money, who publicly said a decade ago, he wants to kill 90% of us. And plans to “do a good job through vaccines.”

You’d probably have to divulge a little more info; all one manufacturer? And budget?

They’re English pricks (not because they’re British) but milestone has a large market share.
Okay, a universal onvif viewer that scans the network and provides a list of each camera, with the ability to add login profiles so I can connect to any random camera in 2 seconds without having to add each one individually.

Strange I have over 100 windows pc's in service whether running blue iris or used as home or business desktops. Dont have speed issues - all with SSD's for the OS. Windows can be just as secure as any other OS. If you are relying on your OS-any os as your only security measure then you have a problem. Linux, macos and the rest all have security vulnerabilities. It takes some self control to not immediately install every update - im sure you can do it though.
As far a paying for an OS, I buy all my systems 1-4 years old. If you were to buy a pc with no OS loaded or with linux it would likely cost MORE than one that comes preloaded with windows. More over do you have a problem buying cams made in china? What about other products made in china or other hostile nations. Do you not support macOS because apples woke policies are destroying America? Do you not buy anything from mexico or other countries that are flooding us with narcotics and illegals? I can go on and on.

Most importantly the OP was looking for software that will not run all the time. Just to configure cameras. None of your issues would be relevant. But the anti-windows folks always love to inject the hate.

I get it; you make money off of pushing a product that only works with windows.
Everyone here take their vaccines and boosters?

I dont make a penny of blue iris sales via this site or this website. That is all Mike. Your logic is also flawed. If I did make money I would push an NVR that is way more profitable...We have subforums for other vms and you will see me recommend alternatives to BI when its appropriate.
Some of the top vms including avigilon, exacq, milestone and nxwitness run on windows....How dare they. Must crash daily. I get it, you install dahua cams and NVRs. A cheap vms that runs circles around toy NVR's from dahua upsets you.

I’m currently working on an account with a bank in the UK, they have some 35,000 plus seats, all Windows 10, a combination of physical and virtual.

Everything sits behind a firewall and Windows updates are rolled out monthly but after being tested for both stability and to assess any performance impact.

I’m sure you already know this but the reason why Windows 10 is targeted is quite simply because it’s the most wildly used OS.

all in one program for what you are looking for would be sweet. I doubt it exists though due to the wide variety of configurations. Propriety VMS's would have it (Exaq Vision, I think) but not for all makes/models of cameras
Just have to do like the rest of us and use VLC, advanced port scanner :)
Dahua has it's own scanner to config cameras. Unsure if it is universal or only for Dahua cameras.
