Need help setting up first system

Hello, this is my first time delving into NVR and IP cameras. My neighbors house was broken into and I want to set up a nice security system with at least 4 camera to start. We have a three level town home. I heard that the hikvision are pretty good, can you recommend where I can start to learn about these system and a good affordable starting system that I can expand in the future.

You already found a place to learn about it. Browse and search this Hikvision subforum and its parent "IP Cameras" and you'll find lots of other threads with recommendations for cameras, NVRs, and places to buy them.
