Need help with NVR Setup and Recommendations

I'm quite a novices when it comes to security and spent weeks lurking around forums trying to find the best cost efficient setup for a security system. At first I didn't chose an NVR and decided to get a Defender 8 channel 2 TB DVR with 4 600 TVL outside cam ( was suppose to be 800 TVL but they gave me the wrong cameras) & 4 800 Tvl Dome Cam. After receiving them today and testing it out I have to say it looked bad at first glance and after fine tuning and checking other cams. The noise and grains were all over the video and looked horrible for 48dB. The night vision however looked pretty good. So to make things short I am now looking at a NVR build and going to return the Defender system back so please any help and feedback would be really appreciated!

Build: 8 Channel NVR + 2-3 TB with 6-8 Cams 4 outside + 2-4 inside, 3 MP Cams; I already know how to port forward for Remote view but any security tips would be appreciated although with my Verizon 4 GB limit I don't know if the NVR has a Email function where it sends you an alert and a picture if motion is detected; Also would like if possible motion detect. Router is a 3801HGV and is placed in the living room but the NVR will be in my room. Spent about $620 on the Defender 8 Cam with 2 TB so I am willing to spend about $800 range for the NVR build due to money budget. I also have a guy I know well I'm paying to wire the cables through my house so that's about $100 put aside as well. Most of these are amazon because I may go and get an amazon card to get Special financing option as it won't eat my wallet whole.

NVR: http://www.amazon.com/Eyesurv-Serie...ameras/dp/B00FJHI9UM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
HDD: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-3-5-I...84&sr=8-1&keywords=Seagate+SV35s&tag=flark-20
Switch: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B003CFATT2/ref=nosim/ipctk-20 ( It's hard to find a 8 POE Switch without murdering my wallet and that is reliable though this is more of a 4 POE switch) or I can get a 8 port switch and 2 of the 4 port poe switch
Camera: http://www.amazon.com/Dahua-IPC-HFW...8&qid=1419334012&sr=8-1&keywords=dahua+camera
http://www.amazon.com/Dahua-Megapix...8&qid=1419334012&sr=8-3&keywords=dahua+camera ( I think they are both ONVIF so motion and alarm might work with the NVR)
Monitor: Will be connecting to my 40" Samsung TV via HDMI

Any Feedback and opinion is greatly appreciated!

I am new to this IP Camera game too moving from analog cameras but from what I been reading and learning in this forum that it more wise to get matching brand NVR and Camera than to relies on ONVIF

I would also suggest you post this in the IP Camera or NVR forum where there more traffic on this subject and you might get more response too. Maybe a moderator can move this post for you into the other forum.

Thanks for the tip!, I did looked at Dahua NVR4208-8P but kept that second in mind because of the $300 price tag; It's about $50 cheaper on Aliexpress a Dahua NVR4216 but from what I've seen it seems like the fan is quite loud. I've also looked at Q-See where people said it is just a Re-branded Dahua which I may keep in mind since the price for a 8 channel system isn't too bad with 8 POE.
