So I am trying to figure out what settings may need adjusted to get more consistent results with my LPR setup. I am using openalpr cloud. Day shots aren't an issue unless it is raining terribly (which I haven't tried to fix yet), but night shots are where I am lacking. I tend to get most plates fine, but some are on the side of the frame, or too dark, and others capture perfectly. I am by no means versed in the settings/what to change, so looking for help. I have attached 3 images from a close time frame with the results I'm talking about. All help is greatly appreciated.

Here are my settings, but these are site specific so they may or may not work at your location. It looks like maybe too much gain on yours. What camera and what are your settings.

But keep in mind there will be some plates that just are not obtainable - dirty, cover over it, coating on it, temp tags, rusty, etc.

The camera is the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12. I added another image where the taillights are crazy bright also. Settings are:

That is the cam I have as well. Try using the HLC in backlight - that will knock down the headlights. Change the IR light to 100% near and far.
