Hi

Why is it when I plug the cameras in with the Cat5e cable the equipment came with they autodetect and work great. When I plug the cameras in with a new Cat6 cable (shortest is 10m long and longest 40m, that i've run throughout the house), it either does not work at all, or gives me “Net Error”. The cat6 cable is tested, not broken and new. When i try a short piece of Cat6 (approx 1m long) the cameras will autodetect and work. The lights at the plug port are both on. This is the same for all cameras. The cameras have a power supply plug, i'm thinking maybe it will needed to be powered even tho its POE?

Thank you

Is the CAT-6 you ran in the house CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) which is NOT good or is it solid copper, the desired type?

Was the CAT-6 already terminated with connectors or did you yourself terminate with RJ-45 males using the TIA-568B color code and test?
