Hi everyone,

I used to have BI running on a pc in my garage and had a usb webcam connected to it to view my garage and I was worried that the PC would be the first thing stolen if someone got into my garage so I moved BI to another machine in my basement. Is there any way to get access to the webcam again over the LAN?

TIA!

Welcome to the forum. You would need another pc or device running near the webcam. You are better off replacing it with an IP camera.

Thank you, and I guess I forgot to mention it's still connected to the original PC. I only moved BI to another machine.

Do you normally keep that pc running 24/7? if not the extra power cost will pay for a new ip camera many times over.
If its running anyway, look at yawcam...

No problem. If you are not running servers, then putting them to sleep or shutting down will save you considerable amounts of money.
