new cameras for NVR5208-EI (new version)

Hi Everyone ,

I bought the 5216-EI and I'm little confused on what camera i should buy for it ,
as understand this NVR support face recognition but need the camera to support it as welll?

Basically i need 2 camera with face recognition :
One will be installed inside the house --2 ways audio it would be great ..
Other one outside .

Budget ~130$ for camera

I'm considering one of the HFW3549 family
IPC-HDW3549H-AS-PV
OR IPC-HFW3849T1-AS-PV

I was thinking about IPC-HDW5442TM-ASE but it has no AI feature (not sure if NVR doing it or the camera) .

1*PTZ - prefer not big one and not expensive one .
Was thinking about
dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 5mp
or dahua SD3A400-GN-A-PV

If this is your NVR, yes it can in theory do face recognition by itself.

Neither of those cameras have face recognition OR face detection (two very different things)

HDW5442TM-ASE is FAR superior in almost every way to either of those cameras and it DOES have AI features

It has face Detection but not recognition. Face recognition is highly scene dependent and in the real world does not work as well as you may think. It is only found on more expensive cameras

Thanks @bigredfish , is there a difference between HDW5442TM-AS (~96$) or HDW5442TM-ASE-S3 (~130$) ?
Does the s3 worth the extra 30$?

Yes the S3 are the latest and by most accounts even better at light pickup
