LOL I didn't see that the first time.

Based on that last paragraph they intend to release other 4k models next year which is nice because I don't have a lot of use for box cams.

Also, this bit confuses me:

a high C/P ratio 4K camera will come out in this November
I assume C/P is Cost/Performance.... so a high ratio would be high cost and low performance. No?

HAHAHAHA. I work with a few Chinese people and I think some of them in China pick their names so that they are more accessible to Westerners. Peter Pan is really a great one, though.

Dahua has now listed a small bullet and dome cam with 4K resolution but they are limited to 7 FPS at 3840 x 2160. This is unlike the 12MP box camera which can do 15 FPS at 4000x3000 and 30 FPS at 3840x2160.

Can't find pricing on any of them yet, and of course no image quality samples. If they are anything like ACTI's cheap 10 MP @ 6 FPS cams, they won't be worth the packaging they came in.

Yeah that 10 MP had some terrible images in the review I saw at networkcameracritic.

I was given a price from my connecton in China. I just don't want a box camera though.

Did anyone notice the bit rate? It says 32K ~ 96Mbps. You would need a gigabit switch to handle them. If you installed 10 of them the gigabit wouldn't be enough. Onward and upward. Also new router? Just a thought...

LOL I bet 96 Mbps is an error.

It is just 4x the pixels of 1080p so it should run brilliantly at 16-24 Mbps.

Still, I see the day coming when I need a separate camera network for performance reasons!

Maybe that is the max speed it can stream, distributed for multiple viewers. I did not notice that it does 3 streams though. That is cool.

Announcement: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/news/dahua-4k-camera-enhances-your-hd-demand-140.html
Specs: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hf81200e-792.html

Just announced last week. I wonder how it will be priced? This model is a box camera, but hopefully mini bullets will not be far behind.
Presently it is priced at $438 but I do not believe that includes the lens. Does anyone happen to know how much the lowest priced lens is for this camera?

Unfortunately with it being a box camera it costs more to put it safely outdoors as it requires an enclosure. Which makes it bulky. Also I bet the $7 lens is garbage.
