New Dahua XVR5116H HDD alarm

I just received this dvr Tuesday and it was running fine with the Western Digital 3TB purple drive for 24 hours. This drive had worked fine in my old Dahua for 8 years. Now its alarming and shows a warning for health.
I have formatted and even tried another drive. I even did a factory reset of the dvr.

Getting close to getting my money back or upgrading.

I wouldn’t be surprised for an 8 yo drive to go or be going. Your old NVR may not have had as sensitive of HD monitoring.

I ordered a new WD 4TB purple. But in the meantime, I found a 1TB drive that is older than 8 years and is working fine for now.
