Consider having at least two cams at the driveway, in crossing views. This is my driveway set up.
There are three cams that cover the driveway. One on the left, one on the right, and an overview in a window over the garage.
This is a shot from my Driveway BI group:
This is the overview shot with some random guy walking up on my JGC this evening. It is a 2MP PTZ cam on a 1/2.8" sensor set at 2.7mm. Not much good for ID, but great to see what is going on around the driveway area.
This is a shot from the Driveway right cam which is a fixed lens T5442 in 6mm. A 4MP on a 1/1.8" sensor. Decent face shot.
This is from the left driveway cam. An older varifocal model 4MP on a 1/3" sensor set at 7.5mm. Not a great face shot but the FOV is good. Need to replace with a newer cam, like a 5442.
Now I do have a lot of light here. That is why the color cams do well here.
