Hi,
I recently bought an IPC-HFW2230S-S-S2 IP camera to replace a broken one. I tried to configure the new IP camera in my NVR4116H, which unfortunately is a few years old. The NVR recognises the IP camera correctly, but cannot complete the configuration or view the stream. Am I wrong, or are the new IP cameras not compatible with older NVRs? I have tried both the "private" configuration and configuring the IP camera as ONVIF, but could not get it to work.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
Andrea

Specs say the old NVR is ONVIF-compliant.

Be sure to enable ONVIF in the camera and create a ONVIF user, use the same username and password for it as the NVR's user/pass and try setup again.

Hello Tony,

I had already tried all day, but I tried again.
I created the Onvif user and the service is active. I try to connect with the same credentials, but it won't connect.
Onvif works because I installed another program (go2rtc) and I can see the stream.
I think at this point it is some form of incompatibility due to different protocol versions.

The latest NVR firmware that I found and installed is dated 2017...
